Day 4 - A healthy recipe

I decided to post a staple recipe for anyone who is following Weight Watchers. This recipe doesn’t sound like much – but it is very flavorful and filling. I have been known to change up the veggies for whatever may be in season and/or add some boneless chicken breast if I feel like it. Obviously the chicken would increase the PointsPlus™ value. But this soup is super yummy and one of the only reasons I don’t mind chilly weather!



Crock Pot Zero Point Soup
Servings 8
Estimated PointsPlus™ value per serving 0
Course Light Meals


Ingredients

1 carton + 1 small can Swanson 99% ff/low sodium chicken broth
1 carton Swanson low sodium vegetable broth

1 lg sweet onion, chopped
1 med. zuccini, chopped
1 med. yellow squash, chopped
2 carrots, scrubbed and chopped
1 10oz. spinach, squeezed dry
1/2 head cabbage, chopped
8 oz. frozen green beans
1 small can crushed tomatoes
3 cloves garlic, chopped
2 tsp. dry basil
2 tsp. dry oregano
salt to taste
pepper to taste
cayenne pepper for spice lovers!

Instructions
Easy! Combine all ingredients in crock pot, cook on high 4-5 hours. No points and is so healthy and hardy.

Brian LOVES this soup!!!

Special Notes
You could make crusty bread to go with the soup with no guilt because the soup is no points!

Day 3 – A childhood memory…

I have a very vivid memory of my childhood from very early on. I amaze my Mother constantly at the detail of my memories and how vast they are. So when I saw this topic – I thought “oh boy, which one???”
I have been pondering that same question for two days now.
So with that being said…
Here are a few of my best childhood memories!

• Playing in a field of giant rolled up hay bales for hours with my brother Paul and my cousins Tim and Charlie.
• Riding my first real roller coaster with my Dad.
• The many road trips cross-country with my family.
• My dog Poochie.
• Going to the drive-in with my family.
• Being a Brownie, taking tap dance classes, piano lessons, gymnastics and all the countless other activities my parents indulged me with.

SO WHAT if…

• I have never been a business owner – I am one now!

• I don’t ever become a millionaire – I just want to pay my bills, provide the necessities and the occasion splurge for my family, go out to dinner every now again, and take a nice big family vacay once a year – is that so much to ask????

• The only clients I have lined up for my photography business are family and friends – I have to start somewhere right?

• I am SO excited to have a new follower on my blog who isn’t a family member or a friend (are you sensing a trend here?) – just someone who is reading my drivel because she chooses to, not because she feels she has to… *heh*! (Welcome to my randomness!)

• I purposely get up at 5am every single morning JUST to have 45 minutes ALL to myself (SO RARE in a family of five) to drink coffee and read (and post) blogs!

• I am counting the days (many because I am cheap and refuse to pay for shipping and handling unless I absolutely have to) until my new business cards arrive!

• I will feel SO *official* when previously mentioned business cards do arrive because apparently a *website*, Facebook page, an EIN (Employer Identification Number) and various other tax documents aren’t *official* enough for me but $10.00 biz cards are?!?!

What are you saying SO WHAT to?

30 MORE Days of Blogging -- Day 2

Day 2 - A photo of you taken over 10 years ago and the story behind it

This is a pic of me (age 30 – w0wie) immediately after I tandem skydived 10,000 feet over Newport, Rhode Island. It was taken in December 7, 2000 – an oddly warm day in Rhode Island, especially to jump out of a plane.

I am standing next to the plane from which I jumped – holding my *official* certificate of completion.

This was such a LIBERATING moment for me – and you know I took my camera (a 35mm Minolta at the time – yeah film, remember that stuff?) all 10,000 feet up with me. At the time it was unheard of – now we are spoiled and can document every nano-second of our lives via our cell phones.

Anywho…
A cool moment, day, and experience for me…

SaTuRdAy Blessings!

‘Ello Blog-o-sphere!
So much has been going on in my little world as of late.
As I have wrote recently… my passion for photography has recently been reignited – and the passion burns brighter than ever before.

I owe it to my place of employment (I ♥ my job!!!)…
The super sa-weet Nikon Brian bought me for Christmas…
The Photo Word Hunt I participate in via Facebook…
Taking MAGNITUDES of pictures of my daughter (and sons when they allow me…)
And just a lifelong love of photography…

So with that being said, I have decided to start a side business with my photography.
YAY!

I am not expecting to be the next MEGA SUPERSTAR PHOTOGRAPHER (although that would be super cool)…
Or to make a million dollars…
I would just love to put my eye and perspective out there and make some extra money for myself and my family doing something I LOVE and am passionate about.

If I get one sitting a week I would be ECSTATIC!
