FaMiLy DaY

Another gorgeous day in Rhode Island spent outside experiencing the amazing beauty this state offers. Isn't it funny how we tend to take our surroundings for granted? I want to make sure my kiddos know how lucky they are to grow up someplace like Rhode Island that offers some of the most amazing coastlines in the world.

The day begins at Beavertail...

What a beautiful day -- not a cloud in this blue sky!

My life, heart, and soul...

The biggest seagull we have EVER seen!

My babies!

LOVE these -- Brian & Skylar...

Picnic time!!! Jamestown Park -- a lovely little place made just for families!

Literally growing up before our eyes -- she wanted to do everything all by herself...

Where is Peyton???? Oh yeah -- lost in a Pokemon game -- heh!

Hunter & Skylar...

We finished the day off at Jamestown Town Beach walking along the water and looking for shells...

Peyton and a spectacular view of the Newport Bridge!

I swear Skylar could have hunted for rocks and shells for hours if she could have...

♥♥♥ My family ♥♥♥

Heading home...

A perfect day really...

My Birfday

Turning 41 is pretty nifty...

The Littlest Purple Goddess -- in a WONDER WOMAN t-shirt (Old Navy) no less...

Be still my heart!!!

Mommy & Skylar off to run errands to prep for a fun family day tomorrow!

Surprise lunch treat -- vegetarian rolls! YUM-mo!

A great day -- and just the beginning of a super-duper weekend!

the 20th anniversary of my 21st birthday...

Yes, today is my birthday.
My 41st birthday!

I have mixed emotions about it all.
I am not depressed in the least; getting older certainly beats the alternative. I think I am more perplexed? Like how did I get to be 41 already? Did I miss 37, or perhaps 39 even? I swear I was JUST celebrating my 34th?!?! Or even better my 21st – TWENTY years ago!!!
I remember it like it was yesterday…
The years just seem to go faster and faster – hence the mixed emotions. I don’t necessarily want to be younger– I just wish time would ummm… take its time!
I want to live in the moment just a wee bit longer.
But enough on that…

So today for my actual birthday we don’t have much planned. All I asked for is the chance to take a nap this afternoon --- LOL!
But I am one of those self-loving types who FULLY believes everyone deserves some serious time in the spotlight for their birthday. My spotlight time shall last until Sunday.

Tomorrow we have a family day planned (letting the kids bunk school and everything) and I want to spend the day at Beavertail (a local lighthouse that I LOVE) having a picnic and taking a ton of photos.
There is a lovely park/playground along the way and one of the many gorgeous beaches here in Rhode Island is always right around the corner. Who knows where the day will ultimately take us?

Saturday morning I have my *day of beauty* appointment in the morning (I am soooooo psyched to have my hair did) and then that evening we are having dinner with one of my dearest friends and her date at a local Japanese hibachi restaurant.
I love my children more than anything and am so crazy happy about our family day – but I am also realllllllllly looking forward to my *adult time* with friends on Saturday.
After dinner I am not sure what we are doing? I have decided to throw caution to the wind and allow the night to take us where it will. All I know is that I hope to catch up with my BFF and her Hubs somewhere!

Sunday is my actual birthday party with the family and I heard throught he grapevine (Skylar can’t keep secrets very well) that I am having a *Barbie party*… heh-heh!

ALL sounds divine doesn’t it?
Yeah I am a lucky gal, I know this.

Happy 20th Anniversary of my 21st Birthday!
