the 20th anniversary of my 21st birthday...

Yes, today is my birthday.
My 41st birthday!

I have mixed emotions about it all.
I am not depressed in the least; getting older certainly beats the alternative. I think I am more perplexed? Like how did I get to be 41 already? Did I miss 37, or perhaps 39 even? I swear I was JUST celebrating my 34th?!?! Or even better my 21st – TWENTY years ago!!!
I remember it like it was yesterday…
The years just seem to go faster and faster – hence the mixed emotions. I don’t necessarily want to be younger– I just wish time would ummm… take its time!
I want to live in the moment just a wee bit longer.
But enough on that…

So today for my actual birthday we don’t have much planned. All I asked for is the chance to take a nap this afternoon --- LOL!
But I am one of those self-loving types who FULLY believes everyone deserves some serious time in the spotlight for their birthday. My spotlight time shall last until Sunday.

Tomorrow we have a family day planned (letting the kids bunk school and everything) and I want to spend the day at Beavertail (a local lighthouse that I LOVE) having a picnic and taking a ton of photos.
There is a lovely park/playground along the way and one of the many gorgeous beaches here in Rhode Island is always right around the corner. Who knows where the day will ultimately take us?

Saturday morning I have my *day of beauty* appointment in the morning (I am soooooo psyched to have my hair did) and then that evening we are having dinner with one of my dearest friends and her date at a local Japanese hibachi restaurant.
I love my children more than anything and am so crazy happy about our family day – but I am also realllllllllly looking forward to my *adult time* with friends on Saturday.
After dinner I am not sure what we are doing? I have decided to throw caution to the wind and allow the night to take us where it will. All I know is that I hope to catch up with my BFF and her Hubs somewhere!

Sunday is my actual birthday party with the family and I heard throught he grapevine (Skylar can’t keep secrets very well) that I am having a *Barbie party*… heh-heh!

ALL sounds divine doesn’t it?
Yeah I am a lucky gal, I know this.

Happy 20th Anniversary of my 21st Birthday!
