Mondays with Skylar...

Our Skylar...
She just learned to smile on *cue*... as some of the pics show. She just cannot help being adorable and beautiful... both outside and in!
I am so blessed by this little creature.

Let's Recap Shall We...

So it's been a wee bit since I have actually written; been letting my photos do the talking for me lately. I think the have done a fabulous job. And my plan was to let this blog be a mixture of my written word and my photographic *word*. But I digress...

So obviously I got *officially* engaged via my remarkable engagement ring. Brian done me good. I wanted an non-traditional ring; an amethyst in particular, and it is beyond my expectations. A 6.15 solitaire cushion cut amethyst with small diamonds on the band which is 14k white gold.

Sheer perfection and EVERYTHING I wanted...
*Sigh*
That ring has me twitterpated. I have been waving it around and showing it to anyone (and I mean ANYONE) who will look! Love, love, LOVE it!!!!

My friend Liisa and I went to Salem, Massachusetts yesterday. (An entire picture post made yesterday in tribute to our trip.) We had a great time; especially catching up. We have kinda been outta touch in the past year or so; we had a lot to catch up on. But of course we also saw the sights, the shops, and such. Honestly... I am SUPER miffed that we wasted an hour and $8.50 on *The Salem Witch Museum*.... what a joke, super cheesy, and a tourist trap and a half. Nex visit we will stay clear of such spots and stick to the historical (and mostly free) spots and the shops.

We have a return visit planned for after the holidays and we both want a reading with Lori Bruno (A psychic whom both of us has heard wonderful things about). We wanted the reading yesterday, but she only does them by appointment only. That alone sold me!

The shops were great but honestly, they didn't carry anything diferent than my friend Angela does? Maybe a bigger stock, but the same items, give or take. I really only wanted to purchase a tarot deck but of course that was the one consistent over-priced item in EVERY shop. Wonder why that is? Everything else I thought was very reasonable for someplace so tourist-y.

So now I am just going to look for the deck I want and ask Angela to order it for me... I would rather she have my business anyhow.

Ohhhh...
I did buy one thing.
A hematite ring for Brian; something I thought was perfect for him.
It wasn't some 6.15 carat amethyst, but nice nonetheless!

Ohhhh...
And one more thing.
I was *up* at my Weight Watcher weigh-in this past week. I gained .8 lbs. Yeah, as in less than a pound.
MUST be my new swanky engagement ring?
*heh heh*

That about sums it all up...

Blessed Be...

Run...

So yeah... I know I totally chinze out when I make an entire post in pictures. But this blog is my *place* to just tell MY story. And what better way than in pictures. What can I possibly say that a picture cannot?
I adore photography and the story it tells...

So what's new?
Oh yeahhhhh...
GINORMOUS news.
I RAN A MILE TODAY.
Consecutively might I add.
I am so ridiculously proud of myself i could just burst! ME!!!! I ran!!!! It's almost too intensely weird to even say... errr write. But I did it, and I will do again. And do it longer! And I kinda owe it to a *challenge* (they are a Weight Watcher staple if you use the online tools) on the WW site. I need to run a 5K (3.1 miles) by Thanksgiving. I am sure I can do it and it will only prepare me for my half-marathon for next year.

I AM running that marathon dammit!

Affirmation for Today: If you see it... you can attain it!
I thought that ALL afternoon and I ran a mile. I saw myself doing it and I actually did it. WOW! Never, EVER underestimate the power of positive thinking!!!!

Sadly there was no Goddess Group tonight, which is a major bummer. They are replacing the sidewalks immediately in front of the shop and apparently wet concrete needs 48 hours to dry? Who knew? Certainly not I... but this is why we have no group tonight. And I am not the only disappointed *goddess*... everyone seemed pretty disenchanted.

We have all built a rapport and I think, well I at least, look forward to seeing these women and sharing this experience with them every week. All on top of learning more about Paganism and even myself. A win/win/win situation!

Angela is offering a class on elemental work tomorrow... tentatively at least. I may sneak out tomorrow and take it? I need my *fix* for the week... and honeslty it is my *ME* time... other than running of course.

Can I call it *running* now?
Am I a runner?
Wow... what a nice thought. If I am of course.
I am changing in so many wonderful and positve ways and I am elated because of it all!

Blessed Be...

My Sky....

Our beautiful daughter Skylar... and her many angelic faces.
So loved...
Exactly 15 months old today.

The Sky....

I love when the sky is a mixture of elements...
Air...
Sun...
Clouds; both black and white...
Something about it makes me smile?

An Exciting Time...

I had to really force myself to get out and walk today. Once I step foot out the door I was so glad I did. I need to walk; daily even. I want to be jogging by next month and running by the beginning of the new year. And let's not even get into how impatient I am to get some of this weight off my body. But that is a whole other issue!

I want to run The Rock 'n' Roll Marathon next August.

It's inaugural run in Providence mind you. Yeah, my wedding will be slightly under two weeks after said half-marathon... but I am feeling pretty adventurous these days. Invincible even!

I can do it!

Here is the link if any of my MANY readers (still zero readers as of this date... heh-heh!) care to check it out...

So freakin' cool and SO me!

I am ashamed to admit that I have let my Pagan work go to the wayside the past few days. I took a workshop this week titled *Moon Magick* and learned so much and sadly haven't put any of it to use. There is a part of me that wants to get everything (i.e. my altar, spells, Book of Shadows, and tools) fully in order before I begin to seriously work on such things. And I am thinking that I will get it all taken care of before the full moon on the 23rd... or even wait until the 25th when we have Drum Circle followed immediately by Open Circle that same evening.

I love Open Circle.

Next weekend one of my best friends and I are taking a day trip to Salem. MA. I cannot even begin to say how stoked I am for this trip! Neither of us have been. I know, I know... shame on us for living so ridiculously close and not getting there before now. I could make up a million valid and not-so-valid excuses, but I will spare us all.

I have a list of things and place I want to do... but the top of my list is to purchase a new tarot deck. I am longing for this new deck!

So many things to look forward to...
An exciting time in my life!

Blessed Be...

Wine...

Brian and I had some wine tonight.

Some very cheap cheesy wine. But it made us feel like *adults* again. When you have a baby and spend as much time with him/her as we spend with Skylar... you can start to feel like a separate entity. Neither adult, nor child, or even human for that matter. You are simply *Ma-ma* and *Da-da*.

Wine made us feel like Cyn and Brian. Even cheap cheesy wine.
Go figure?

Moving along...
I went to the dentist today.
By choice.
Which is a MAJOR feat for me. I wouldn't necessarily say I have a fear of dentitst; I just don't particular like them. Hence why I haven't been since the late 1980's. Well, other than when I have had dental emergencies and have taken my children (all on a regular basis I might add... yep, I AM a dental hypocrit!). So today's viist was WELL overdue. But I sucked it up and went because I needed to and because I had some teeth issues this past year which basically scared the crap outta me!

The verdict...
Two cavities and I need a good cleaning.
I was SHOCKED!

So for the rest of the world (none of which even reads this blog as I have ZERO followers at this posting... *heh*)...

Even if like me, you haven't been to the dentist in eons and are scared, embarrassed, whatever...
Just go... it might not be as bad as you think!

And there you have it...
Hrmmm...
Am I tipsy?

Blessed Be...
♥Cyn♥
